Passing the Two-Year Mark: The Biden Administration and the Central American Migration Crisis
Passing the Two-Year Mark: The Biden Administration and the Central American Migration Crisis
An event organized by the Migration Research Institute will examine the Central American Migration Crisis since the inauguration of democratic president Joe Biden. During the first two years of the Biden administration, the Southern border of the United States descended into unparalleled chaos with more than 4 million migrant apprehensions since February 2021. What policies are to blame for the biggest migration crisis in U.S. history? What could be done to stem the flow of irregular migrants coming from Latin America? What happens to them once they reach the border of the United States? Can they hope to stay permanently in the country? These are the questions that will be tackled by Kristóf György Veres, senior researcher at the Migration Research Institute.
