Leírás:

Charles Michel – az Európai Unió Tanácsának jelenlegi elnöke–indul az idei európai parlamenti választáson, így az Európai Unió állam- és kormányfőit tömörítő Európai Tanácsnak hamarosan új elnökre lesz szüksége.

Magyarország az Európai Unió Tanácsának soros elnökségét veszi át az év második félévben, így fennáll annak a lehetősége, hogy Viktor Orbán ideiglenesen betölti ezt a pozíciót.

Az előadás célja feltárni annak lehetséges következményeit, ha Viktor Orbán ideiglenesen átvenné az EU Tanács elnökségét, illetve kitérünk arra, hogy Magyarország milyen feladatokat lát el ebben az időszakban, és milyen felelősségek járnak a soros elnökséggel.

Description:
Charles Michel, the current President of the European Council, is running in this year's European Parliament elections, creating the need for a new president for the European Council, which brings together the heads of state and government of the European Union.
Hungary will take over the rotating presidency of the European Council in the second half of the year, raising the possibility that Viktor Orbán may temporarily assume this position.
The aim of the presentation is to explore the possible consequences if Viktor Orbán temporarily takes over the presidency of the EU Council. We will also delve into the tasks that Hungary will undertake during this period and the responsibilities associated with the rotating presidency.

Lecturer: Rodrigo Ballester - Head of the Centre for European Studies, School of International Relations
The presentation will be in English.
The event is free to attend, but registration is required.
